ARTICLE: Al Prodgers performs at Windmill Casino
Article first published in the Citizen newspaper on 1st November 2011. Click here for the original article Three top Comedians to take Windmill Casino by storm. There will be comedic fireworks aplenty when a trio of top comedians take to stage at Windmill Casino on Saturday, November 5. Heading the bill will be Al Prodgers, one of the top comedians in South Africa. Besides being a regular top attraction on the local comedy circuit, Prodgers has taken his comedy all over the world and has appeared in places from Dubai to Toronto, from London to Mauritius. He is also known on TV as Maxime in Generations and played on Isidingo. Next up will be comedy of a musical kind from musical comedian Deep Fried Man. He was dropped on his head several times as a child, and this has had a profound effect on his song- writing style. He started out as a serious musician before realising that the audience was laughing at him, so he decided to try and at least make them laugh on purpose. His first one- man show Deeply Fried won an Ovation Award at this year’s Grahamstown Festival. Completing the line-up will be world-class comedy magician Magic Man. For the past fifteen years he has been touring North America, Canada and Asia. He performed for the Rolling Stones at the Sticky Fingers concert and at a wrap-up party in Vancouver for U2. Magic Man will make you laugh as he bamboozles you. Catch Al Prodgers, Deep Fried Man and Magic Man in what promises to be a cracker of a show at Diamond Lil’s at 9pm on Saturday, November 5. Tickets cost R100 per person
